Thanks alice!
Yes, it was great to meet up with everyone again and to share their journey's through this course, it certainly is a blessing and thought provoking! It's great too that i am able to be a 'witness' to the love of God by my very presence and its was also great to see other religious there also.... I'm still trying to find out the answer to my question and will keep you posted...St. Matthew will be a stuggle to do but well worth it...there has been something different each time that you pick up (its a case of remembering all those talks and notes etc.....) 'its like that pearl of a great price that is mentioned!' I'd recommend it to anyone

god bless

Hi Sr. Davina, so lovely to see you at Maryvale. Thank you for joining up with me to expand our learning capacity! God bless you in your work. Father Basil spoke at breakfast of a society that insisted our community members proved their value to that society in order to demonstrate their 'charity' status and thus exempt them selves from 'poll tax' type levys - you are worth your weight in gold in your dedication to a life in Christ. See you next time hopefully. PS. love the blog, well done

Dear Sister Benedict,

Thank you very much for your reply.
To my amazement and delight, the convents and monastries in the UK are very much alive, as your site confirms! Colwich's blog is a wonderful orchard of information I have realised- so many pages and blog roll links.
Since I last wrote I have returned many more times to read through the different sections. Initially I had only been looking confirm history, but this site has led me in many new directions and made me think a lot harder about my own spirituality. This is something I hadn't examined in a Christian context for quite a while. So, I have found being able to read the nuns and guests comments thought provoking and reassuring....perhaps even like a hard push in a better direction.

With my appreciation,
Kirsty

It is on 21st July entitled Junior Nun to Colwich, then there is part 5. It seems a long time ago that I wrote it. I do hope my experiences will be of some use to others.
Best wishes & prayers

I love the articles on Chelsea. I just finished
a discerning week with a monastery and they
have several cats. Sr. Sugar(she is all white)
likes to sit in the window during the Divine Office.
The three cats stay in the cloister garden and
play with the turtles that live there also. Everyday
I would go into the garden and pet them.
I work at a Catholic Church and our pastor has
a bassett hound named Wilbur Francis, Wilber
has a bed in my office and stays with me most
of the day. He has a basket of toys in our hallway
but he is very lazy and really has no interest in
playing with them he just wants them out of the
basket. My pastor said to me,"can you train him
to put the toys back in the basket?" So now I am
on a mission to teach him to pick up after himself.
Animals have a way of helping us not to take life
so seriously.
